This site keeps as little as it can while still counting visits and preventing spam.

What is stored

An anonymous browser cookie. The first time a page loads, the server sets a random identifier in a cookie named vid. It is used so a like is counted once per browser and a visit is counted once per session. The database stores only a keyed hash of it, never the cookie value itself.

Visit counts. Totals per page and a count of distinct browsers per day. Daily visitor records are routinely deleted once they are more than two days old; only the totals remain.

Comments. The name and text you submit, the time, and hashed identifiers used for rate limiting and removing spam.

What is not stored

No IP addresses, email addresses, device fingerprints or third-party analytics. Instead of your IP address, a keyed hash of it that changes every day is kept with comments and with short-lived rate-limit records, to slow down spam and abuse.

Third parties

Fonts load from Google Fonts. Project data is fetched from GitHub by the server, not by your browser.

Removing a comment

Ask through the contact page and it will be removed.
